"Ukrainian Parliament should declare its attitude", - believes Arseniy Yatseniuk, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. He appealed to the political forces represented at the Ukrainian Parliament due to the results of the consultations with the leaders of legislative bodies of Georgia and Russia, and the head of Russian external policy administration.

 A.Yatseniuk appealed to the Factions with a request to declare their attitudes concerning the situation in Georgia, so that a common consolidated resolution of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine regarding the situation in the area of conflict could be adopted.  

The Head of Ukrainian Parliament also commissioned The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Committee on Foreign Affairs and The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Committee on National Security and Defence to elaborate Draft Resolutions that should present clear-cut official appraisal of the situation as regards external policy and relevant consequences for Ukraine. 

The Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine appealed to the People´s Deputies with a request to participate in the Second Kyiv Security Forum. Last year, the attendants of the Forum discussed the issue of "the frozen conflicts". This year the Forum is devoted to the issues of energy security. The Forum, organized by the Charitable Fund of Arseniy Yatseniuk "Open Ukraine", will be held on 6-7 November 2008 and gather 200 guests from 20 countries.

As it was reported earlier, on 11 August 2008, Arseniy Yatseniuk, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, held efficient consultations with David Bakradze, Chairman of the Georgian Parliament, Sergey Mironov, Chairman of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation, Boris Gryzlov, Speaker of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, and Sergey Lavrov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, over the telephone. concerning peaceful regulation of the situation in the area of conflict between Georgia and South Ossetia. 

The Parties discussed the situation in the area of conflict between Georgia and South Ossetia. 

Within the scope of the consultations, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada appealed to his interlocutors with a request to apply all efforts in order to prevent hostilities and launch peaceful negotiations aimed at conversion of the conflict settlement to the peaceful process.
